Explicitly Tacit - a meal and a conversation

Explicitly Tacit - a meal and a conversation was conceived by four ASU students—Dana Keller, Miguel Monzón, Iván Sánchez Beltrán, and Justin Stewart—as an exploration of socially engaged art practice. We conducted three different installations of the piece in 2015 and 2016: two at ASU - Tempe campus, and one at the ASU - Downtown campus. Here I am sharing the premise and some of the photos.
What happens when four acquaintances from seemingly different backgrounds come together to share a meal and their thoughts on race, gender, class and other challenging topics?

In Explicitly Tacit, four art students will attempt to demonstrate how we can come together to discuss difficult topics in a way that is positive and reinforces our shared humanness.

The project begins with individual meals at strategic locations and will culminate in a one-day journey that includes four meals and travels from Phoenix, Arizona to Sonoyta, Mexico.
